Ryan and Kay met in 2021, alongside a softball chain fence, after Ryan played a game with the Rainbow Warriors.
“Is she for me?” Ryan, in his cute pink Browns cap, asked himself when Jenna introduced them.

2021 Rainbow Warriors Softball Game
Jenna, our cupid, invited Kay to watch her softball game that night. Despite a strict caregiving schedule, Kay joined and was formally introduced to Ryan. Kay still remembers, “He waved while being introduced, in his cute pink Browns ball cap, and the largest welcoming smile.”

Despite Ryan being embarassed that Kay points this out, she adores this detail. After Ryan asked Kay to hang out sometime, he ran across the street to his van where he produced a business card for her. She still has that card.
Fall 2021, falling in love
Within the first two weeks, Ryan and Kay went on numerous dates! Waking in the forest, composting together, and even building an A-Frame in Tom and Jenna’s backyard together!
September 2021 – Ryan meets Kay’s childhood and college friends!
July 2022
For Ryan’s first birthday with Kay, they traveled to the last of the lower 48 states he hadn’t yet visited, Washington! It marked the beginning of many spontaneous, adventurous trips they would take together. In just a few days (Thursday to Sunday), they managed to survive a stomach bug, buy and destroy a custom birthday cake, explore Washington’s national/state parks, sleep in both a van and a tent — and go skydiving together!
2023 – Move in together
November 2023 – Buy a house!
February 2024 – Ryan proposed!
December 2024 – Road trip
Ryan joins Kay in Arizona after a Grand Canyon Trip. Together they stayed at Kay’s Grandma’s and Grandpa’s (meeting Felix before his passing). They road tripped back up California, camping along the way.
